NICL Laboratories recognize the need to organize employee programs that provide for medical cost and income loss protection, time away from work, investment opportunities for the future and individual growth through continuing education. A summary of the programs currently in place is provided below. For further details on each of these programs, refer to the specific booklets and/or the Employee Policy Manual.
Comprehensive Medical/Dental Insurance is made available to all full time employees 30 days after date of hire. Each employee may select single or dependent coverage and one of two levels of deductible. Employee premium contributions amounts are dependent on the plan selected and are processed as a pre-tax payroll deduction to provide tax savings.
TDI is included in your selection to participate in the Medical/Dental plan or is available separately to all full time employees 30 days after date of hire. This plan provides for 60 % of your weekly earnings in the event of 1st day injury or 8th day illness and covers up to 180 days of disability.
Life insurance is included in the selection of either Medical/Dental/TDI or TDI only. A $10,000.00 term benefit is provided.
Long Term Disability is provided for income protection in the event of disability in excess of 180 days and to age 65. Participation in this program is available following 1 year of active full time employment and is at a minimal cost to the employee.
To provide a program that allows for each employee to manage time off with pay to meet their individual needs, vacation, sick and holiday time is consolidated into one program. Employees who are hired to be regularly scheduled 20 hrs or more per week are eligible for this benefit upon completion of 90 days of active employment. For each hour of regular and PDO pay recorded up to 80 hours per pay period, you earn a percentage of time (calculated in hours) which accrues in your PDO bank. This time is yours to use to meet your needs for time away from work for vacations, illness, childcare appointments, special events, etc. Review the Employee Policy Manual for details in requesting and recording your time off with pay.
After you have completed 1 year of service and worked a minimum of 1000 hours, you are eligible to participate in this plan which allows you to contribute part of your paycheck each period to an employer sponsored retirement savings plan on a pre tax basis. This means you can reduce your current federal and state income taxes and put your money directly to work for you. A matching company contribution increases your savings for the future. Enrollment periods occur two times per year, in January and July.
To encourage participation in continuing education to enhance your skills and knowledge in a job related program, reimbursement for costs of seminars and tuition is made available. Throughout the year seminar programs are circulated and/or posted for individuals to review and select from. For details in how to submit requests for approval refer to the Employee Policy Manual.
